Malaco Zoo Sour Monkey are monkey-shaped foam sweets with a tangy citric-and-malic sour coating. The foam is whipped on potato protein rather than gelatine, which makes them one of the very few Swedish foam candies vegans can actually eat. The chew is soft and airy — marshmallow lightness, but with a springier, denser bite than an American marshmallow. Colours come from radish, apple and blackcurrant concentrates, and the brand is Malaco, Sweden's pick-and-mix institution since 1934, now part of Cloetta.
